Major Project: Getting together

This evening Casey met up to go over my findings from the meeting with the SU. There were a few things she was confused about or didn't understand from my blog post about it (unsurprising seen as the blogger muck up had made a few sentences illegible and I had missed them when I was cleaning it up).

I explained it all and then we went over our thoughts from the past 2 weeks. I had been trying to find some images and inspiration to go towards the mock up/mapping of the look of the films and explained my thoughts to Casey on the set.
I wasn't sure where to look at first because this is a set based series but not a game show or chat show. But then a light bulb lit up in my brain and I remembered those channel four shows "100 Greatest" and "Rude Tube". So I started looking at things like that. I wasn't interested in the VT sections but the set based parts in between:

Then I tried to find videos that were purposely made to be viewed by students.... I didn't have great luck, all I managed to find were accommodation videos for universities.
This one I found interesting. It's not very well done and could have used some better editing but I thought it was an interesting take and was different from the boring monotonously narrated by an older sounding lady videos.


Anyway. My thoughts are, it should be a student bedroom themed set. Not an actual bedroom but a bedroom which is obviously a set. Like Stephen Fry's set was like a garage but it's clearly a set. Casey seemed keen on the idea and we then discussed how we might go about sourcing things for it. We think we could manage to source everything easily apart from the bed. Casey said we could build one so it looks like a bed but it's not (like with boxes or something) but then we realised if we wanted him to interact with the set (which is what I envision) then the bed needs to be sturdy.

We then went on to discuss which videos we would make. I will post them in another post.

I really enjoy working with Casey and I feel like we are really productive together, at the moment with our clashing schedules we can't meet regularly but once Casey has finished her work exp I think we will be storming along with this.

My action plan for monday is to get a casting call going. I will write it up, send to casey and then get it posted on the UCA ads section, castingcallpro, mandy, I will put posters around UCA and I will post on the UCA facebook wall.

I will also be trying to do more mock ups and be considering the title logo which we also discussed together. We decided we just need to try different things with it as we don't have a solid idea in our minds of how we want it to look.
