Superseed: The first shoot.

Yesterday Will and I headed to Dartford to shoot our first interview with Dr. Wiltshire. He was very kind and invited us into his home for tea and biscuits while he gave us an idea of what he would say. We then headed out to his allotment which was lovely. I am enjoying getting to see these places.

We got his space and he showed us where we could shoot. He had a shed in an enclosed leafy area so I decided to shoot him there.

It was difficult getting a variety of shots because with only one camera and very long answers from him he wasn't able to say the exact same thing again for a different shot size. However I think I did ok in that sense. I got some 'handy's' but they were difficult also because I am not sure he understood their purpose. I asked him to move his hands as he had been and he started flailing them about or he wouldn't move them at all. Hopefully they will be ok for Dylan.

He was a very kind and interesting man and so helpful! He was chilly sitting outside for so long but obliged while I set up for some extra shots towards the end. I will have stills to put up here soon but the upload is taking a while. The footage will be uploaded to Dylan's hard drive but I wanted to check the footage and get some stills so I am putting them on my mac too. Can't hurt to have back ups!

I think the shoot went well. Will sat forward asking questions and I set the camera quite a bit back which I think worked well, until I need close ups. From that distance I could only get a mid close shot so when we had done all the questions I moved myself forward and got some closer ones. I also shot a few extra cutaways around the area and was lucky enough to have a cat join in the action so there is some cat footage. Though it's incredibly difficult to film a moving furry creature in focus!
