I am struggling with fitting it into a slot. I instinctively feel like 9 or 10pm on C4 on Thursday night. But after looking at where a lot of other successful shows fit, I don't know how to justify this time slot.
Prime Suspect
Touch of Frost
Cracker
The vice
Murder Investigation Team
Inspector Morse
... are all ITV shows and were all on (sun-weds) from what I can tell.
Silent Witness (mon) and the Danish version of the Killing (sat BBC4) were on BBC. As well as Sherlock (sunday).
However, considering the style my adaptation fits more on C4 on Thursday night.
The ITV ones are all very English, I hope you know what I mean by that because I don't know how to explain what I mean by it. And the BBC ones are very stylized and finished.
Channel four tends to have stylized, gritty, experimental television late night on weekdays and I see my show fitting that style slot more. However the audience would be crime thriller audiences and fans of the novels which I imagine to be more mid 20's- much older. The audience of ITV might be more adept but it's interesting that Peter James made a deal with ITV for the adaptation but decided against it eventually. I just see ITV as being a bit more entertainment based and more jovial than "Dead" would be.
